Proverbs 31 Virtuous Woman | Biblical Womanhood
In the chapter of proverbs 31 we find the best example of a virtuous woman. This example of biblical womanhood can be very frightening to some women. Being the proverbs 31 woman is not as hard as you may think. In fact, God placed that type of woman inside you from birth! Lets look at this proverbs 31 woman point by point. Proverbs 31:10 This verse describes every good christian woman. It also tells us it is rare to find such a woman. How many women in this world are innocent (which is another word for virtuous)? Not many to be sure. In fact you may think of yourself as not innocent. However when you become a christian God declares you to be just that! Because of your value to God you are more precious than rubies! Proverbs 31:11 The proverbs 31 woman is trusted and loved by her husband. According to this verse a proverbs 31 woman who is married gives her husband no reason to seek evil. She encourages him to do good. Every christian woman should encourage people in this way. Proverbs 31:12 A virtuous woman not only encourages her husband to do good but she also lives it by example! Proverbs 31:13-19 And there goes the whole idea of women not working and letting the man be the sole bread winner! A virtuous woman is not only going to work for her family (at home and abroad), she is also going to do it willingly! She wants to help! Proverbs 31:20 What an amazing woman! This virtuous woman is not hard hearted. She has compassion. This comes from God as well. It is love. Proverbs 31:21-22 Ever see these women who dress as if they are going swimming at any moment? You know what I mean. Their shorts may as well be underwear and their top may as well not be there. A virtuous woman dresses in another way. She has class. She is modest. She also makes sure her children learn to be as well. Proverbs 31:26 The bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Even in this book of proverbs it says a fool is thought to be wise when he holds his tongue. In the same way I regretfully have seen women all over who don't know how to speak properly. They are loud and speak foolishly. Men do the same. A virtuous woman on the other hand is going to know how to hold her tongue. She speaks soft and kind. She is not rude and acts with love. Proverbs 31:30 This is the whole matter summed up. A virtuous woman is one who fears the LORD! A christian woman who seeks the will of God may not be everything in this chapter... but she is working to be. That alone makes her worthy of praise. The fact that you are reading this and trying to be this proverbs 31 woman shows that you already are simply because you fear the lord. |
